Built like a
majlis.
CODED — البنّاي, “the builder” — began as a single counter in Mubarakiya souq, where Bader CODED blended oud oils for the families of Kuwait City. Forty years on, the house still blends by hand, still ages its oud in the same cellar, and still believes a perfume is architecture: a structure you inhabit, built note by note.

The founder

He learned the trade from the dhow captains who carried Cambodi oud across the Gulf, and from his mother, who kept Taif rose in a locked drawer for weddings. The first CODED perfume — Layl Oud — is still composed to his 1989 formula, batch by numbered batch.

How we work
Slowly, and by hand

Sourced whole
Aquilaria from Assam and Cambodia, rose from the Taif escarpment, frankincense from Dhofar — bought whole, never as “notes”.

Aged three years
Oud rests in the cellar a minimum of three years before it earns a place in a composition.
03
Macerated six weeks
Every blend is an extrait de parfum at 25–30% concentration, macerated six weeks before bottling.
04
Sealed by the house
Each bottle is batch-numbered and sealed with the founder's mark under the cap.
